The Jagdwagen is Porsche's first real utility vehicle
No, the Cayenne was not Porsche's first 4x4.
Say hello to the Jagdwagen, otherwise known as the coolest name ever attached to a Porsche.
It was built to compete for a military contract with the German army in the 1950s.
Sadly, low production volume and high costs made the Germans go with a competitor.
Porsche built just 71 of these things, a few of which went off for civilian use.
It uses the same flat-four engine as the Porsche 356, and it's mounted out back.
The side of the Jagdwagen does not have doors. Instead, you hop over the side sills.
The Jagdwagen is actually buoyant, but I wouldn't recommend trying it out.
These aren't exactly cheap.
Bonhams assumes that this Jagdwagen will fetch over $200,000 when auctioned off.
If you want to put in a bid, it'll be auctioned off at this year's Goodwood Revival.
