The 2018 Toyota Sequoia gets some much-needed attention
With a mild refresh and a whole new trim, Toyota's eight-year-old, three-row SUV finally grows up a bit.
On the aging Sequoia, the addition of the TRD Sport version is a small shot in the arm for a model that hasn't had a complete make over since 2008.
The Sequoia TRD Sport can be had as a 4x2 and 4x4 with power coming from a 5.7-liter V8,
Suspension changes consist of Bilstein shocks and beefier antiroll bars to improve handling.
Visually, the TRD Sport trim freshens the outside of the Sequoia with a new grille and bumper, black mirror caps, 20-inch black wheels, smoked tail lights and black badges.
For the cabin, black fabric seats are standard, while black leather is available as an option.
Other alterations consist of TRD sill protectors, shift knob and TRD Sport floor mats.
On the technology front, all 2018 Sequoias will come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense suite of equipment that includes lane-departure alert, pedestrian detection, radar cruise control and automatic high beams.
Exterior paint colors available on the Sequoia TRD Sport include Super White, Magnetic Gray and Midnight Black Metallic.
For 2018, all Sequoia models receive new LED headlights, daytime running lights and fog lamps.
The 2018 Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport will land in dealer showrooms in September.
