The 2018 Audi A5 Cabriolet drops the top on the tech-heavy A5 coupe

Four and a half months after the debut of the 2017 A5 and S5 coupes, we have the debut of the 2018 A5 and S5 convertibles.

Audi will launch its latest drop-tops as 2017 models, but they won't arrive in the US until the 2018 model year.

The new convertible top has one-touch functionality. It can raise in 18 seconds and drop in 15 at speeds up to 31.1 mph.

The A5 Cabriolet will come to the US with a 252-horsepower four-cylinder engine.

The S5 Cabriolet packs a bit more power. 354 horsepower comes forth from a 3.0-liter V6.

All-wheel drive and an automatic transmission are both standard.

The interior is largely the same as the coupe, except for the addition of seat belt microphones for top-down Bluetooth calls.

You can load the car up with a number of safety systems, including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.

The Audi A5 and S5 Cabriolets hit dealerships in Germany in March 2017.

Their US debuts are still TBD, as is US pricing.
