Toyota released photos of the 2015 Yaris ahead of its launch, showing a much more attractive car than the previous generation.
The Yaris, at the bottom of Toyota's lineup, gets a styling and tech update for the 2015 model year. The car comes in L, LE, and SE trim levels, with prices beginning at just $14,845.
Available only as a hatchback with three or five doors, the body shows a bubble-shaped roof with large windows for the front passengers. The front-end sports a large air intake below the badge. Faux intakes to the side hold fog lights.
L and LE trim model sport 15-inch wheels, while the SE trim level gets 16-inch wheels. With all trims, the front is supported by McPherson struts, while a torsion bar holds the rear wheels to the car. SE trim cars get disc brakes all around.
LED daytime running lights are a feature of the SE trim Yaris.
Buyers benefit from a 6.1-inch touchscreen at all Yaris trim levels. That touchscreen shows detailed audio information for the six-speaker stereo.
Double-stitched cloth seats look good. The sport bolsters suggest this is an SE trim car.
Two transmissions are available for the 2015 Yaris, a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic.
The USB port, supporting thumb drives full of music as well as iOS devices, comes standard at all trim levels.
