Meet CNET's Long-Term Kia EV6

CNET's new long-term electric car is the 2022 Kia EV6 Wind AWD.

OK, it's more like our new-ish long-termer. We took delivery of the EV6 in November and have spent the last 4,000 miles behind the wheel.

I've dubbed our EV6 Wind "Linka," after the wind-themed Planeteer.

The EV6 has proven to be a reliable, low-maintenance daily driver.

We've spent around $414 on charging for the year so far at various DC fast charging stations.

Taking advantage of free charging every now and then helped keep costs down, but a home charger would be the thriftiest choice.

Unfortunately, the EV6 didn't arrive with a home charging cable -- only the V2L power output adapter.

The EV6 has served us well around town and on a few long-range road trips.

Overal, we're averaging around 3.3 miles per kilowatt-hour.
