Lotus Elise Sprint goes on one serious diet
Its curb weight is an impressive 1,759 pounds.
The Lotus Elise Sprint boasts some serious weight savings.
Its 90-pound weight loss comes from a number of lightweight components.
The battery is lighter, as are the seats, the wheels and the rear windshield.
New two-piece brake discs shed 9 pounds on their own.
Two engines are on offer.
There's a 134-horsepower, 1.6-liter I4, or a 217-horsepower, 1.8-liter I4.
The base Sprint will hit 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, whereas the more powerful variant takes just 4.1 seconds.
Both the front and rear fasciae were updated for this new model.
The interior, as always, is pretty darn spartan.
The manual transmission features exposed linkages, which is awesome.
A base, non-Sprint Lotus Elise starts at £32,300 ($39,945) in the UK.
