The Kenu Airframe+ Car Kit is the smallest smartphone cradle-and-charger combo that we've tested.
The Airframe+, a minimalist vent mount for smartphones, is the first half of the duo.
Also included is Kenu's 4.8A DualTrip charger.
There's not much to the Airframe+, it's about as simple as phone mounts come.
On the back of the mount is a set of rubber grippers that hold fast to the louvers of most cars' vents.
The DualTrip features two 2.4A USB fast-charging ports, more than enough juice to power two large phones or even an iPad.
The Airframe's grip is wide enough to accommodate phones with screens of up to 6 inches.
The minimalist design means that the cradle is barely there when the phone is in place.
The DualTrip charger fits into the Airframe's grip when not in use.
Kenu doesn't include a USB or Lightning cable with the combo; you'll have to bring your own.
Even with a cord wrapped around it (and secured in the grippers), the Airframe+ Car Kit is extremely compact, making it ideal for drivers who move between multiple vehicles -- say, when renting ZipCars.
The Airframe+ Car Kit combo retails for $40. That's a $10 savings when compared to the individual components.
