Going Rogue: Nissan updates its small SUV with all-new hybrid variant

With a slightly new look, an all-new hybrid model and a whole bunch of new safety options, the Rogue isn't looking so old anymore.

Thanks to a serious refresh effort across the lineup, the Rogue is now one of Nissan's oldest designs.

But that changes for the 2017 model year with the introduction of the '17 Rogue.

Both front and rear fasciae have been updated, with the former receiving Nissan's new V-motion grille.

There are a few new wheel designs and color options available, as well.

The most important addition for 2017, though, is the introduction of the Rogue Hybrid.

The hybrid mates a 2.0-liter I4 to a 30-kW electric motor, for a net output of 176 horsepower.

The gas engine is still available, though.

With front-wheel drive, the Rogue Hybrid will hit 33 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.

AWD hybrids will see 31 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

The 2017 Rogue Hybrid will go on sale before the end of the calendar year.

Rahul Manepalli, right, Intel's module engineering leader, shows a glass substrate panel before it's sliced into the small rectangles that will be bonded to the undersides of hundreds of test processors. The technology, shown here at Intel's CH8 facility in Chandler, Arizona, stands to improve performance and power consumption of advanced processors arriving later this decade. Glass substrates should permit physically larger processors comprised of several small "chiplets" for AI and data center work, but Intel expects they'll trickle down to PCs, too.
