Fiat 500L concept gets down with the surfing set (pictures)
Fiat released photos of a design concept based on its 500L model and inspired by Vans sneakers that it will bring to the Vans US Open of Surfing.
Fiat modified this 500L for the Vans US Open of Surfing competition, scheduled from July 25 to August 3 in Huntington Beach, Calif. The 500L represents Vans iconic shoes through its color scheme and other design elements.
The roof rack includes a double-decker surf board holder, while the Vans label hangs over the C pillar. A checked pattern on the roof along with blue and white paint echo typical Vans sneaker design.
The dashboard panel, body colored in a typical 500L, is designed to look like a wall or skate board heavily stickered by Vans fans.
The shelf below the glovebox sports a surface designed like the sole of Vans sneakers.
