Aria Group FXE is a knife-edged American hybrid supercar
A firm best known for building concept cars and movie props has unveiled an impressive new supercar at the LA Auto Show.
The FXE is an evolution of the "Fast Eddy" sports car shown at last year's LA Show.
In addition to a V8 powering the real wheels, the FXE features an electrically powered front axle backed by a 10-kWh lithium ion battery.
Total system output is listed at a tidy 1,150 horsepower.
The FXE's aggressive and somewhat busy front end looks a bit Lamborghini-esque.
The FXE is said to hit 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. The car's top speed has not yet been revealed.
Gaping rear intakes provide cooling air for the 6.2-liter V8.
The Aria Group is best known for developing concept cars for major automakers such as Honda and Kia.
The company is also known for producing the carbon fiber bodies for celebrated Porsche up-fitter Singer.
The 3,450-pound FXE was designed and engineered in Orange County, not far from its LA Auto Show debut.
No word yet on how much the Aria FXE will cost, nor when it is expected to enter production.
