2022 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster: Drop That Top
The convertible from Aston Martin proves to be a handful of open-top fun.
This is the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster.
New for this year is a much improved front bumper and grille design. It's much prettier than what we saw last year.
Under the hood is a Mercedes-Benz-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
503 horsepower and 505 pound-feet of torque go exclusively to the rear wheels.
The cloth convertible top is quick. It can be lowered in 6.7 seconds and raised in 6.8 seconds, at speeds up to 31 mph.
The roof doesn't intrude too much into the trunk space, but there is still only about 7 cubic feet of space back there. Pack accordingly.
The Vantage defaults to Sport mode, but there are also Sport Plus and Track modes to kick it up a notch.
From a dead stop the Vantage can scoot to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds.
The Aurora Blue over Ivory Gold Metallic interior is a stunner.
The 2022 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster starts at $158,186 including $3,086 for delivery. My tester here with a premium audio system, metallic paint, the optional vaned grille, a two-tone interior and smoked red taillights comes out to $185,786.
