2020 Ram 1500 is a delicious-looking diesel
The full-size pick up gets a diesel option for 2020 and retains its good looks as well.
The fullsize Ram 1500 pickup truck doesn't get any changes to the outside for 2020.
Which is good because the 1500, especially here in Rebel trim, is one purty truck.
Instead, Ram will offer up a new 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine across all trim lines of the 1500 in 2020.
This third-generation oil burners puts out 260 horsepower and a class-leading 480 pound-feet of torque.
That means the 2020 Ram 1500 can handle 2,040 pounds of payload and tow 12,560 pounds.
EPA numbers have not been announced yet, but Ram claims the 1500 diesel can go just over 1,000 miles on a tank of gas.
There is a lot to like about the 1500 besides the diesel engine. The multifunction tailgate can open traditionally or each 60/40 split door can open like a barn door as well.
An optional air suspension keeps the ride smooth and level.
Expect to pay a $4,995 premium over a 3.6-liter V6 model. A two-wheel-drive Ram 1500 Tradesman Quad Cab EcoDiesel comes in at $36,890, plus $1,695 for destination
