2020 Jeep Gladiator looks rough and ready in LA

The Jeep brand has been without a pickup truck in its lineup since 1992 when production of the Comanche ended. That changes with the arrival of the 2020 Gladiator. 

The body-on-frame platform is 31 inches longer than the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, while the wheelbase is 19.4 inches longer.

When the Gladiator launched during the second quarter of 2019, it will be powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 making 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.

A six-speed manual transmission will be standard on all Gladiator models, while an eight-speed automatic will be available as an option.

All 2020 Jeep Gladiator models will come standard with four-wheel drive.

In 2020, the Gladiator will also be offered with a 3.0-liter diesel V6 rated at 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. The diesel will only be available with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

While Sport and Overland versions of the Gladiator will be equipped with a Command-Trac 4x4 system, Rubicon trims will get a Rock-Trac 4x4 setup with 4.10 front and rear axle ratios and locking differentials.

All Gladiators will feature a 5-foot bed with low side rails making for easier loading and unloading of items.

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator will offer tow capabilities of up to 7,650 pounds and payload capacity of up to 1,600 pounds.
