The 2019 Toyota 4Runner is old, but still spry off-road
The current-generation 4Runner has been around since 2009 and is showing its age.

The Toyota 4Runner entered its current fifth generation almost a decade ago.
Its last major design update was in 2013 and not much is new for 2019.
All 4Runners are powered by a 4.0-liter V6 with 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque channeled through a five-speed automatic transmission.
EPA-estimated fuel economy is 17/21 city/highway mpg for rear-drive versions. Four-wheel-drive models get 17/20 city/highway mpg.
There's enough room inside the 4Runner for five occupants, but a small third-row seat for two extra passengers is optional.
A 6.1-inch touchscreen and an eight-speaker audio system with HD and satellite radio come standard, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are unavailable.
The 4Runner offers up to 89.7 cubic feet of cargo space with a maximum tow rating of 5,000 pounds.
Aside from front and rear parking sensors, no other driver-assistance features are offered.
Base prices for the 2019 Toyota 4Runner range from $34,910 and $46,415 plus $1,045 for destination.
