2020 Jaguar I-Pace: A spunky electric cat

The 2019 I-Pace is the first electric vehicle from Jaguar, which is better known for building performance coupes, convertibles and sedans.

The I-Pace was developed from the ground up to be an electric vehicle with a battery packed mounted flat into the floor giving it a low center of gravity.

An electric motor on the front axle and another on the rear axle makes the I-Pace all-wheel drive. 

The dual electric motors combined to make 394 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque. 

Jaguar says the 90 kilowatt-hour battery pack provides a driving range of up to 240 miles.

With instant torque, the I-Pace is capable of hitting 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds according to Jag.

When using a 100-kilowatt fast charger, a depleted battery can be charged to 80 percent in 40 minutes.

Using a 230-volt charger at home will take a little more than 10 hours for a drained battery to power up to 80 percent.

To improve handling, the I-Pace comes standard with an air suspension system that in Dynamic modes firms up to better control body motions.

The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace goes on sale in November with a starting price tag of $86,895, which includes $995 for destination.
