2019 Hyundai Kona Electric gets a US market version and we're excited

The 2019 Hyundai Kona EV looks a little less rough-and-tumble than its ICE powered sibling.

No transmission means no shifter and no shifter means more room for activities!

The Hyundai Kona EV's drivetrain isn't going to blow anyone's mind but at 201 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque, it should still be fun.

We're not in love with the Kona EV's front end and find the debossed pattern more than a little odd-looking.

The plastic body cladding of the standard Kona is back on the EV and we're digging it.

The charging port being right up front is exceedingly convenient. 

The interior of the Kona is a decent place to be with adequate rear seat room, no worries about the battery pack encroaching.

The rear cargo area is decent though not huge. Fold-down seats are a nice feature to have.

The rear of the Kona EV is a little busy for our tastes but not bad-looking overall.

With 250 miles of range offered as standard, you should be able to do some serious cruising before you have to hit a charger.
