For the 2019 model year, Audi will roll out an all-new eighth-generation of its A6 sedan.
Unlike the previous model, the new A6 will feature a turbocharged V6 mild hybrid powertrain.
Also unlike the current A6, the new car will use a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
While the A6 will be available with an air suspension and rear-wheel steering in Europe, those features will not be offered on the A6 in the US. Those features will come a little later on the more performance-oriented S6.
The interior of the new A6 is slightly larger than the present day A6 with rear passengers gaining half an inch of additional legroom.
The 2019 A6 is heavy on new technology with the latest MMI infotainment system ditching the rotary knob and most of its hard buttons in favor or dual touchscreens.
Infotainment features include an available Bang & Olufsen audio system, navigation and Wi-Fi.
Safety tech has also been upgraded with an adaptive cruise control system capable of keeping the car better centered in a lane, thanks to a new laser sensor.
The 2019 Audi A6 will arrive at dealers around November.
Audi says a four-cylinder engine option is in the works for the new A6, but exact timing on when it will arrive isn't available yet.
