This properly outfitted base Carrera is the kind of 911 I'd happily drive every day.

A wonderful seven-speed manual transmission is standard, though you can get a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic if that's your style.

The 911 T uses rear-wheel drive and doesn't have the wider rear end of the Carrera 4 and GTS models.

The Carrera T comes standard with Porsche's PASM sport suspension, a short-throw shifter and is the only base 911 that can be optioned with rear-axle steering.

At 3,142 pounds, the Carrera T is the lightest version of the Porsche 911.

A unique aero lip spoiler and gray exterior accents set the T apart from other base 911 Carrera models.

The Carrera T gets the thinner rear-side and back window glass from the hardcore 911 GT2 RS, which saves about eight pounds.

I Got an Early Look at Intel's Glass Packaging Tech for Faster Chips
Rahul Manepalli, right, Intel's module engineering leader, shows a glass substrate panel before it's sliced into the small rectangles that will be bonded to the undersides of hundreds of test processors. The technology, shown here at Intel's CH8 facility in Chandler, Arizona, stands to improve performance and power consumption of advanced processors arriving later this decade. Glass substrates should permit physically larger processors comprised of several small "chiplets" for AI and data center work, but Intel expects they'll trickle down to PCs, too.
