2018 Lexus LC 500 is a different kind of flagship luxury coupe

Lexus' new flagship coupe is a different kind of luxury two-door.

A great 5.0-liter V8 engine and rock-solid chassis certainly point to sporty intentions, but a near-4,300-pound curb weight means the LC is a little too porky to be thoroughbred sports car. 

Is it a GT? Not really. The backseat is very cramped and small trunk rule it out from being a full-on GT vehicle.

Without question, the LC is a visual stunner and will draw attention wherever you go in it.

Optional performance goodies include a rear-wheel steering system and limited-slip differential.

With a log hood line, aggressive spindle grille and sleek profile, the LC may remind you some of the LFA supercar.

With the 5.0-liter V8, Lexus says the LC 500 can reach 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.

Even though it's not a dual-clutch gearbox, the LC's 10-speed automatic performs very well on the race track and on the street.

With low-profile 21-inch tires, the LC's ride quality is noticeably bumpier.

The 2018 Lexus LC 500 carries a base price of $92,995, which includes destination costs.
