2017 BMW M760i xDrive packs V12 muscle, luxury and surprising handling chops

BMW's new 2017 M760i xDrive becomes the range-topping vehicle in the 7 Series lineup with big power, better handling capabilities and slightly more aggressive looks.
For power, the M760i xDrive employs a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine making 610 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.
Connected to the V12 is an eight-speed automatic transmission routing power to all four wheels. BMW says the drivetrain can get the M760i xDrive to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.
To improve handling, active roll stabilization and rear-wheel steering are both standard.
For more stopping muscle, the M760i xDrive features 19-inch M Sport brakes with blue metallic brake calipers.
Specific design changes to the outside include larger front air intakes, 20-inch double-spoke alloy wheels, V12 badges and cerium grey trim.
The interior is dressed with an M leather steering wheel, illuminated door sill plates, M pedals, M driver's footrest, a special speedometer and Nappa leather.
The top speed of the M760i is governed to 155 mph.
As expected, a variety of safety tech is available on the M760i including lane keeping assist, rear collision prevention and active cruise control with stop and go.
The M760i xDrive carries a base price of $153,800.
