DETROIT -- The 2015 Corvette Z06 is a 625-plus horsepower, supercharged version of the C7 Corvette Stingray.
The 6.2-liter motor is situated low and far back in the engine bay for proper weight distribution.
Beefy Michelin tires provide plenty of grip.
The Z06 frame is aluminum, like that of the base Stingray, but features more carbon fiber in the bodywork.
Only two pedals here. This car is equipped with Chevy's new eight-speed automatic transmission.
A radiator situated in the rear bumper provides cooling for the new transmission.
The transmission is situated low between the rear wheels.
The battery is also mounted in the rear, for best weight distribution.
