2014 Dodge Durango modernizes the SUV (pictures)
With sleek exterior design touches and connected cabin tech, Dodge shows there is still life in the old SUV format.
Dodge refreshed the Durango for the 2014 model year, updating the cabin tech and transmission.
Dodge offers the Durango in five different trims, all with a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Engine choices include a 3.6-liter V-6 or this 5.7-liter Hemi V-8.
The Durango is built on the same platform as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the latter a very capable vehicle.
The Durango comes with a fold-down third row.
Power adjustable leather seats add to the comfort level.
The second row can either be a three-passenger bench or two individual seats.
An optional rear-seat entertainment system includes and HDMI input.
With the V-8 engine, the Durango uses hydraulic power steering.
The instrument cluster gets an LCD for its center panel.
The UConnect system uses an 8.4-inch touch screen, with an intelligently designed interface.
The navigation system includes perspective and plane view maps, and destinations can be imported from the Durango's integrated apps.
Dodge includes a built-in 3G data connection and an app store in the interface.
The audio screen shows album art when available.
