We liked the Audi A7 so much that we gave it our Editors' Choice Award. The humpback is back, but this time it's got an 'S' prefix.
Under its hood, the S7 is powered by a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that outputs 420-horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque.
A 0 to 62 mph run happens in 4.9 seconds and the S7 will go on to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
The S7 comes standard with a sport air suspension.
Audi's Drive Select system has four settings (Auto, Dynamic, Comfort and Individual) that adjust the air suspension, the throttle response, shift points, power steering boost, and differential characteristics.
Aluminum trim for the rear view mirrors, S7 badging, and 19 or 20-inch wheels distinguish the S7 from the A7.
The S7 features a cylinder on demand system that deactivates four of the eight cylinders when not under a load. However, the driver shouldn't notice the change in engine smoothness thanks to active noise cancelation and active engine mounts.
Of course, the S7 still has the liftback and rear storage area.
The S7 also features an S-specific dual exhaust system with quad exhaust tips.
Inside the S7 is available with either a standard Bose Surround Sound System or an optional Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System.
Drivers can treat their rear end to the S7's sport seats wrapped in Valcona leather with diamond stitching.
Like the standard A7, the S7 features Audi's handwriting recognition system. The fingertip input pad is visible next to the shifter.
The sport steering wheel features color contrast stitching and aluminum shift paddles.
Users interact with the Audi MMI infotainment system using this pop-up screen and the MMI controller on the center console.
Audi's full cabin tech suite will be available on the sporty S7. Check out our full review of the A7 for an idea of what to expect.
