2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate (Photos)
The Estate starts with the E-Class sedan platform and pumps up the rear storage to create a surprisingly handsome wagon.
More space
The E-Class estate is the third model in the new E-Class lineup, joining the sedan and coupe models.
True to concept
The E-Class estate is model in the lineup that sticks most closely to the design cues established in the ConceptFascination design study.
Flowing lines
Here we can see the estate's forward pitched body lines, which are interrupted at the rear quarter by a bulging fender flare.
Packs much back
The estate's increased storage space makes for a much more bulbous rear end, which is particularly evident when viewed from the rear quarter. The BMW 5-Series Touring does a much better job of hiding its heft from this angle.
Huge storage space
Details and measurements are still hush-hush, but here we can see that the rear seats fold flat to create a cavernous storage space.
Choice of powertrains
Gasoline and diesel engines will be available with a selection that will be similar to that of the sedan and coupe variants. 4Matic all-wheel drive will also be available.
Frankfurt 2009
The E-Class estate is set to debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show in September and go on sale in Europe as early as November 2009.
