2010 Lincoln MKT (photos)
Lincoln's MKT is a new crossover, a large vehicle with three rows of seating. It incorporates the latest Lincoln cabin tech and driver aid features, along with the powerful Ecoboost engine.
The MKT is an all-new crossover from Lincoln. It has the capacity of an SUV without the truck-like design and stigma.
The newest generation of Lincoln vehicles uses a winged grille design, first seen on the MKS sedan. On the MKT, this grille design takes on epic proportions.
The MKT can be had with the Ecoboost engine, a twin turbo direct injection V-6 making 355 horsepower.
The MKT has three row seating, although getting into the final of seats is not particularly easy.
As the MKT uses a fully independent suspension, the ride quality is very good, and handling is carlike.
The third row seats fold down, making for a large cargo area.
An impressive panoramic sunroof, with a powered shade, is available on the MKT.
The interior isn't the most luxury we've seen, but the materials are nice and the fit is good.
The steering wheel holds the all-important voice command button that lets you control phones and MP3 players through Sync.
Adaptive cruise control and automatic parking information is shown in the small screen on the speedometer.
A six-speed automatic is the only transmission available with the MKT.
The Lincoln incorporates excellent cabin tech, with a hard drive-based navigation system.
The live traffic feature warns of accidents and other incidents on the route, and can compute a detour.
Although the car only has a single CD/DVD slot, you can use it to rip CDs to the car's hard drive.
The rearview camera is a essential feature in this car, considering the limited rear visibility.
