The smart home deals of Amazon Prime Day
Amazon's currently running discounts on dozens of smart home gadgets as part of Prime Day -- here's what you'll find if you're looking for a bargain.
Amazon Echo
Shopping for smart home bargains? Amazon's yearly Prime Day is a pretty good day to do it, and it's happening right now -- but for some deals, you might need to act fast.
First up, Alexa. Amazon sits her front and center on Prime Day, enjoying some of the best smart home deals you'll find. For instance, the original Amazon Echo smart speaker can be had at half cost -- just $90 (LINK).
Amazon Tap
For a more portable Alexa experience, you can score the battery-powered Amazon Tap for $80. That's not as steep a discount as the Echo, but it's still about 40 percent off (LINK).
Amazon Echo Dot
The Amazon Echo Dot offers the same Alexa smarts as the original Echo, but with a smaller, less powerful speaker. Still, you can connect it with external speakers via line out jack or via Bluetooth, and it costs a lot less than the Echo. It's even cheaper on Prime Day -- marked down to just $35 (LINK).
Philips Hue White Starter Kit and an Echo Dot
You can also bundle the Echo Dot with a CNET Editors Choice-winning Philips Hue White Starter Kit for $85. That kit includes the all-important Hue Bridge, and usually costs $70 on its own (LINK).
Ninety7 Vaux Amazon Echo Dot Battery Speaker
If you've already got an Echo Dot, consider getting it the battery-powered Vaux speaker base. It'll make your Dot into a portable speaker with better sound, and today, it's ten bucks off at $40 (LINK).
Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance Starter Kit
Philips Hue's color-changing bulbs are on sale, too. Buy today, and you can pick up the full-color starter kit for $140 (LINK).
Philips Hue LED (3rd generation)
You can also score a discount on an extra bulb for your existing Hue setup. Hue's current-gen color-changers are marked down to $40 each, today only (LINK).
Lifx Wi-Fi Smart LED (3rd generation)
Lifx is another option for fans of connected, color-changing light. Like Philips Hue's bulbs, these work with Alexa, but unlike Hue's bulbs, they don't need a hub. Today, Lifx's current-gen, baseline bulbs are marked down to $45 bucks a piece. They're not the Lifx+ bulbs that work with night-vision cameras, but that's still a pretty good discount (LINK).
Beddi Alarm Clock
You can turn smart lights like those on and off using the buttons on the Beddi smart alarm clock, along with a whole bunch of other clever features. It's on sale for $80 today (LINK).
Amazon Echo Show and Netgear Arlo
Amazon's also running a Prime Day promo on the newly released Amazon Echo Show, which gives Alexa a new touchscreen to play with. One of the things she can do with that screen is show you your smart home camera feed, so today, Amazon's offering the Echo Show bundled with a camera from Netgear Arlo for $410 -- about $75 off of what you'd normally pay (LINK).
Samsung SmartCam HD Pro
It's a little long in the tooth, but $80 for a refurbished Samsung SmartCam HD Pro isn't a bad deal (LINK).
Chamberlain WiFi Connected Garage Door Opener
At some point today, the Chamberlain MyQ Wi-Fi garage door opener will be on sale for 20 percent off (LINK).
Logitech Harmony Ultimate Universal Remote
Starting at 7:15 PM EST, the Logitech Harmony Ultimate Universal Remote, which comes with the all-important Logitech Harmony Hub, will be on sale at a yet-to-be-announced discount (LINK).
Leviton Decora Smart Dimmer Switches
Many of Leviton's new "Decora" line of smart switches are on sale today, too, including models made to work with Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, or Apple HomeKit (LINK).
