Bad weather brings bad tidings?

Over Thanksgiving weekend, the BBC released a treasure trove of promo images for "Sherlock: The Abominable Bride," a one-off 90-minute special set to air January 1.

Snow can't keep Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) and Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) off a case for long.

Dr. Dapper?

Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) may be a medical man, but this suit makes us think no one minded sitting in his waiting room to catch a glimpse of that manly mustache.

Meet the bride?

The Bride appears to be played by newcomer Natasha O'Keefe. On IMDb she's listed as the character Emilia Ricoletti. Does this make them one in the same?

Mary, Mary quite contrary

Mary Morstan (Amanda Abbington) -- also known as Mrs. Watson -- may look like a fine lady who understands social protocol, but that doesn't mean she won't find some mischief to get into during the upcoming "Sherlock" special.

Lestrade is on the case

In the original stories, Inspector Lestrade (Rupert Graves) not only often consults with Sherlock Holmes, he has the upmost respect for him.

"We're not jealous of you down at Scotland Yard. No, sir, we are proud of you, and if you come down to-morrow there's not a man, from the oldest inspector to the youngest constable, who wouldn't be glad to shake you by the hand," Lestrade tells Holmes in "The Adventure of the Six Napoleons."
