MetroPCS' affordable LG Optimus L70
Available from prepaid carriers Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS, the LG Optimus L70 is a bargain in the realm of midrange device. Priced at $50, the handset features 4G connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera, and Android 4.4.2.
A unique honeycomb pattern
The phone sports a similar design to the rest of LG's mid range Optimus family. However, its unique honeycomb design on the battery door helps it stand out from the crowd of plain, black slabs.
Bright and vivid 4.5-inch display
The L70 has a 4.5-inch WVGA touchscreen with an 800x480-pixel resolution. Overall, the display is bright enough to be easily read outdoors, it's responsive to the touch, and it's coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for durability.
Comfortable and pocketable
The phone measures 5 inches tall, 2.63 inches wide, and 0.38 inch thick. Weighing 4.5 ounces, the phone is comfortable to hold and easily manageable with one hand.
QuickLaunch key for fast access
On the left edge is the Quick Launch key, which you can customize to launch any app of your choosing, such as the alarm clock, Chrome, or music player. It also doubles as the shutter key when the camera is opened.
Running Android 4.4.2.
The device runs the rather recent Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, and you'll get a number of Google apps, such as Gmail, Plus, and Maps.
Midtier power inside
Powering the handset is a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and a 2,040mAh battery, which has a reported talk time of up to 13 hours.
