Check out Ikea's new solar-powered outdoor LED lights
These artsy lamps aren't just Pinterest fodder -- they're highly efficient outdoor fixtures that draw their power from the sun.
Ikea's new summer product lineup features a new "Solvinden" collection of solar-powered LED lights and lamps designed for your porch, balcony, or back yard. Most of them, like this table lamp, cost $20 or less.
Here's a hanging lamp with a similar patterned-fabric covering. The cost? $9.
You've got several styles and designs to choose from. All of them use built-in solar panels to keep the rechargeable batteries powered. That means you don't need to worry about plugging them in.
Add in the long-lasting LEDs, and you're looking at outdoor lights that don't need to be plugged in, and which won't need you to worry about changing the bulbs out.
Fixtures like these are designed to cast patterned shadows as opposed to uniform light.
You'll also find solar-powered string lights in the Solvinden collection, like this multicolored set.
Ikea even offers decorative, solar-powered LED rocks that put out a gentle glow when it gets dark out.
This free-standing lamp looks to be the most expensive fixture in the lineup, coming in at $50.
All of them are set to start selling at retail as soon as this month. Come for the Swedish meatballs, stay for the solar-powered yard lights.
