2019 Chevy Silverado bows at Detroit with newfound muscle
Next-gen light-duty pickup adds tech and performance while dropping weight.

GM actually previewed the new Trailboss trim at a Texas media event marking the centennial of Chevrolet trucks.
The Trailboss looks impressive, but whether it's a full-fledged Ford F-150 SVT Raptor competitor remains to be seen.
The Silverado Custom trim features 20-inch painted alloys, LED taillamps, body-color trim and available dual exhaust pipes tucked up into the bumper.
Chevy says the beds on its trucks are nearly 7 inches wider than before and they feature 21 tie-down points -- 12 are fixed and 9 are movable.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado is one of the most aerodynamic full-size trucks available due to extensive use of aero features. The integrated spoiler at the rear edge of the cab directs air onto the tailgate lip, reducing wind drag from the bed. Changes like these result in a 7 percent increase in aerodynamic efficiency.
