'Blade Runner 2049'

Director Rian Johnson takes us to a galaxy far, far away for the continuing adventures of Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren and Luke and Leia. Benicio del Toro and Laura Dern join the cast from "Episode VII: The Force Awakens", while Tom Hardy has a secret cameo.

Comic Jordan Peele (of Key and Peele fame) had a huge hit with this satirical horror story starring Daniel Kaluuya (pictured).
'Wonder Woman'
Gal Gadot is the Amazon princess Wonder Woman turned amazing superhero in DC's World War I-era adventure. Chris Pine co-stars in this wondrous hit.
'Dunkirk'
Christopher Nolan goes to war in "Dunkirk", a critically-acclaimed story of the British army's escape from Europe before the onslaught of Hitler's troops early in World War II. Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh and pop star Harry Styles don tin hats.
'Baby Driver'
After dropping out of "Ant-Man" at the eleventh hour, director Edgar Wright (pictured) finally returned to movie theatres with music-driven getaway adventure "Baby Driver", starring Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm and Kevin Spacey.
'Hidden Figures'
The true story of the women who helped send NASA into space proved to be huge commercial and critical hit.
'War for the Planet of the Apes'
Andy Serkis once again dons the motion capture suit for more monkey business in the excellent "War for the Planet of the Apes".
'Logan'
Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and Patrick Stewart is Professor X once again in a critically-acclaimed story inspired by the post-apocalyptic comic "Old Man Logan".
'Kong: Skull Island'
Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and Brie Larson go ape in this 1970s-set 3D blockbuster. Based on the 1933 film "King Kong", it's intended to start a crossover series pitting Kong against Godzilla.
'John Wick: Chapter 2'
Keanu Reeves is back in gun-toting action for heavy-hitting hitman sequel "John Wick 2".
'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'
Javier Bardem joins the crew of the pirate series with Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush for more piratical skulduggery.
'The Girl With All the Gifts'
Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine star in "The Girl With All the Gifts", a zombie movie with brains and bite.
'The Dark Tower'
Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey headline this critically-panned adaptation of Stephen King's series of novels.
'Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets'
Twenty years after "The Fifth Element", Luc Besson returns for more eye-popping sci-fi action in "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets". Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke and Rihanna bring their space suits, but critics and audiences were less than impressed.
'Split'
M Night Shyamalan directs James McAvoy, James McAvoy and James McAvoy as a psychopath with multiple personalities in this entertaining thriller.
'Life'
Astronauts Rebecca Ferguson, Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds get into trouble on a space station.
'Ghost in the Shell'
Scarlett Johansson headlines this visually lavish (and controversial) live-action adaptation of the legendary manga by Masamune Shirow. Japanese superstar Takeshi Kitano co-stars.
'Spider-Man: Homecoming'
After a cameo in "Civil War", Tom Holland makes his first full outing as Marvel's friendly neighbourhood wallcrawler.
