Cord cutters who want to watch "Game of Thrones" can do so on Sling TV too. HBO

The going rate for HBO without a cable subscription seems to be 15 bucks.

Sling TV is the latest provider to announce the availability of HBO without requiring a cable subscription. For $15 per month, Sling TV subscribers can access the live HBO channel as well as "the same extensive VOD library HBO provides on its other platforms," according to the press release.

HBO is not yet available to Sling TV subscribers, but it will come in time for the season premieres of two of HBO's most popular shows, "Game of Thrones" and "Silicon Valley," on April 12. The exact launch date will be announced soon.

Sling TV is available on numerous devices, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV and the Xbox One, as well as Android and iOS devices, and Macs and PCs.

To get HBO on Sling TV you'll need to be subscribed to the base package of channels, which costs $20 per month, bringing the minimum monthly cost of HBO on Sling to $35.

The $15-per-month standalone HBO Now subscription, meanwhile, will be available initially only on Apple devices.

Apple's exclusive to the standalone service lasts for three months, meaning that people who only want to subscribe to HBO Now will have to wait until then to watch the service on other devices.

Unless you happen to live in an area served by Cablevision. The New York area broadband and cable provider has also announced it will offer HBO Now without requiring its customers to subscribe to cable, before April 12.

Cablevision serves about 3 million total customers in the greater New York metropolitan area, including 2.8 million Optimum Online broadband customers. Sling TV, and HBO Now via Apple, are available nationwide.
