Klipsch's first 2019 sound bars, the $299 Klipsch Bar 40 and the $499 Klipsch Bar 48, are available in the US from today.
The 40-inch Klipsch Bar 40 is a 2.1-channel sound bar with a wireless 6.5-inch subwoofer, Bluetooth, built-in Dolby Audio decoder and "enhanced virtual surround sound modes".
The 48-inch Klipsch Bar 48 is a 3.1-channel sound bar (with center channel) and a wireless 8-inch subwoofer. It offers Dolby Digital, DTS and DTS-HD decoding. The Bar 48 is compatible with the optional Surround 3 speakers for $249 a pair.
The company says both the speakers and subwoofers use wood construction in addition to horn-loaded tweeters. The designs are in keeping with the brand's premium Reference speakers whereas older designs, such as thehave typically been constructed from plastic.
The company will also offer the choice of voice technology and even Atmos in its sound bars later in the year:
- Klipsch Bar 40G ($TBA) with Google Assistant onboard
- Klipsch Bar 48W ($TBA), compatible with Google Assistant, Alexa, and surround
- Klipsch Bar 54A ($1599) with Dolby Atmos and discrete elevation drivers
Klipsch says the remaining models will be available in Fall 2019.
