VLC for iOS gets a redesign with new playback controls (pictures)
The open source video player that's been a long-time favorite on desktops now has a new look and more features in its iOS counterpart.
Browse your videos
Once you have some videos, you can swipe to browse with screen grabs of the videos behind each title.
Playback controls
You get all the basic playback controls like play, pause, fast forward, and rewind, but you can also change the speed of the video, add filters, and more.
Slide-out menu
Touch the VLC cone icon in the upper left to open a slide-out menu to see your upload options and all app settings.
Change the look of the video
Hit the button in the lower right of the playback screen to open up sliders for brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, and gamma, all while the video is playing in the background.
Wi-Fi upload
Flip the Wi-Fi upload switch to display a link you can enter into your desktop Web browser. From there, you can drag and drop videos into the window which will automatically be uploaded to VLC for iOS.
