Twitter for Android (pictures)
The official Twitter app for Android recently got a face-lift. We take a look at its new design and features.
Home tweet home
Home is where the timeline is. Every time you open up the app, your timeline starts you off at the last tweet you read. Tap the Home button to quickly jump to the top.
Connect with your Tweeps
Tap the alarm bell icon to see your mentions and keep track of when others retweet or begin following you.
New and improved profiles
The new profile screen adds a Facebook-style cover photo as a backdrop to your Twitter avatar. Below, you'll see all of your other vital info, including followers and those you're following.
Expanding tweets
Expanding a tweet brings up options to reply, retweet, favorite, or share. In some cases, an expanded tweet even shows you snippets from linked articles and thumbnails.
Discover on Twitter
The Discover tab shows you relevant stories (based on your connections), an activity stream, trending hash tags, and more.
Compose from anywhere
With the compose bar, you can start tweeting from anywhere in the app. The interface makes it easy to add pictures and location stamps, and autocomplete helps you mention your friends.
