There's a lot under the hood, but its primary feature is global tracking for commercial flights. You'll see all vital information, and the app will notify you in case of delays.

See it on a map
For flights that are en route you can go to a map view. The app won't show the flight's actual position, but it will show its approximate position on a projected "great circle" route.

Know your aircraft
A very cool feature (well, at least for an aviation geek like me) is the ability to read about your aircraft. The photo won't represent your actual plane and it may not even be your airline, but you'll get an idea of how the plane will appear at the gate.
