This smart garage kit from Home8 keeps an eye on your garage

Home8's $100 ActionView Garage Door Control System adds voice commands with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, as well as remote access, live video monitoring and motion detection. 

The Home8 app houses menus and functions for all of Home8's products. It's not exactly garage-focused, but you'll find everything you need to monitor your garage in the Automation and Video sections. 

The Home8 Garage Door Control Relay attaches to your existing opener using adhesive tape provided with your purchase. You can also attach Home8's controller to your existing wall push buttons. 

Wiring the Home8 Garage Door Control Relay is similar to most other smart garage openers, in that it uses two wires to connect to your existing opener's command nodes that control opening and closing. 

The Home8 app includes menus for notifications, voice assistants and device management, where you can link other smart home product accounts such as Nest and Philips Hue. 

An activity log of Home8 controlled actions is available in the app. The log doesn't include door commands issued from your existing wall push buttons. 

Home8 uses a system hub called a security shuttle. The device plugs into your router and pairs your devices with your 2.4GHz internet connection. 

Notifications for motion-triggered video clips appear in the VideoGram section of the Home8 app. Here, you can view, save and share the recorded clips if you subscribe to Home8's $10 per month plan. 

The Home8 Wi-Fi Camera is a standard definition camera that keeps watch over your garage. It includes night vision and adjustable sensitivity motion detection. 

With the Home8 Wi-Fi Camera, you can view a live stream of your garage in the Home8 app. If you see something you'd like to record, you can press the record button to capture a clip. Recordings captured manually are free and saved to your local storage.
