BARCELONA, Spain--The Tablet Z has a 10.1-inch HD Reality Display with Sony's Bravia Engine, a 1,920x1,200-pixel resolution, and support for 16 million colors. It's also scratch-resistant.
Colors were bright and very sharp. Sony tends to do well with its displays, and the Tablet Z is no exception.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z
The tablet has three ports around its edges: a headphone jack, a microSD slot (supporting up to 64GB cards), and the MHL/Micro-USB connection.
Doors cover all of the ports, which makes the Tablet Z fully submersible.
The Tablet Z's built-in IR blaster lets you use it as a universal remote, even if its actual functionality hasn't changed much since the Xperia Tablet S.
The Tablet Z's 6.9mm profile makes it extremely thin. It's thinner, in fact, than the iPad Mini and it weighs just 1.09 pounds. That's very light, but the tablet still packs a punch.
On the tablet's rear side is the lens for the 8-megaixel camera.
You'll have a variety of camera controls for taking photos and shooting 1080p HD video. There's a 2.2-megapixel front camera, as well.
Like we said, the Tablet Z is really thin.
