The multitalented I'm Watch (pictures)

Certainly the most boldly styled smartwatch to hit the market, the I'm Watch also runs Android plus tailor-made apps.

A watch of many faces

Crafted by Italian manufacturer I'm, the I'm Watch is big, bold, and made from aluminum. It also has the ability to sport multiple watch faces such as the standard one here.

Splashy start screen

When you power up the I'm Watch, the device proudly displays its branded splash screen. After that, it boots up into its own custom version of Android.

Apps on your wrist

Like its smartwatch competitors from Sony, Motorola, and Pebble, the I'm Watch runs applications such as an address book, calendar, e-mail, and even Twitter.

Access your applications

The main screen displays the time, and you can scroll through app icons along the bottom.

This watch is worldly, too

One my favorite applications preloaded on the I'm Watch is a world clock that can show the time in many time zones. I also like its retro LED-like readout.

A strap with substance

In terms of strap size, the I'm Watch doesn't mess around. Its rubbery wristband is very wide yet comfortable.

Charge from the left

On the left side of the I'm Watch is its charging port. The jack uses a special 3.5mm headphone plug, which then connects to a standard USB port. You can also see one of the I'm Watch's speakers.

A view from the right

On the right side of the I'm Watch sits the device's circular power button. Also placed here is the watch's other speaker.

I Got an Early Look at Intel's Glass Packaging Tech for Faster Chips
Rahul Manepalli, right, Intel's module engineering leader, shows a glass substrate panel before it's sliced into the small rectangles that will be bonded to the undersides of hundreds of test processors. The technology, shown here at Intel's CH8 facility in Chandler, Arizona, stands to improve performance and power consumption of advanced processors arriving later this decade. Glass substrates should permit physically larger processors comprised of several small "chiplets" for AI and data center work, but Intel expects they'll trickle down to PCs, too.
