The Oppo R9 Plus brings big battery life, big performance and a big screen at a midrange price.
The rear camera clocks in at 16 megapixels. Impressively, so does the front camera, making the R9 plus a selfie-lover's dream.
The Plus will sell for AU$699. That's around $530 or £395 converted, but as yet there's been no official pricing announced outside of the Asia-Pacific region.
Like the original R9, the R9 Plus wears its iPhone influences on its sleeve, right down to the rose gold variant on offer.
The Plus' 1.8GHZ octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor put it on par with the beefy Sony Xperia X and the Huawei Mate 8 in our benchmarking tests.
The 6-inch screen has the same 1,920x1,080-pixel resolution as the 5.5-inch R9, which means a slight reduction in pixels-per-inch (367 ppi versus 401 ppi). That said, you're unlikely to notice the difference.
The R9 Plus packs in a supersized 4,120 mAh battery. During testing, it managed a battery life of 17 hours and 30 minutes, which puts it as one of the best we've seen this year.
