"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" features a galaxy full of new characters, each with their own fierce look. Check out some of the costumes designed by David Crossman and former comics artist Glyn Dillon.
The costumes were shown off last week at an event outside London at Pinewood Studios, where parts of "The Force Awakens" and "Rogue One" were shot. The event marked the launch of Gillette's new Star Wars-branded Mach 3 razors. Yes, razors.
Felicity Jones is the leader of the Rogue gallery as rebellious Jyn Erso. Her outfit, pictured in the centre of the rebel crew, consists of a cotton printed jacket, trousers and cap.
Jyn's earthy rebel outfit is made from cotton and canvas.
Rebel officer Cassian Andor fights for the cause in a nylon parka over a cotton jacket and trousers.
Andor is armed and ready to take on the evil Empire.
His gloves include a moulded "greeblie" -- a moviemaking term for a detail that adds texture and interest to a model or costume.
Pilot Bodhi Rook takes to the skies in coated cotton drill overalls with moulded Imperial insignia and a nylon mesh utility vest.
Toughened rebel Baze Malbus, played by Wen Jiang, dons lightweight cotton overalls and polyurethane armour to go into battle.
Malbus wears repurposed Stormtrooper neck armour and gloves.
His heavy repeater cannon claims many an Imperial enemy.
Warrior monk Chirrut Îmwe may be blind but he still fights hard in a suede jacket and silk trousers.
Unlike lightsaber-swinging Jedi, Îmwe goes old school with a mean sword.
Îmwe wears polyurethane armour and a leather baldric crossing his body to hold his sword.
Orson Krennic, as director of Advanced Weapons Research for the Imperial military, may be one of the worst characters in the movie, but in this sleek and simple ensemble he's also one of the best-dressed.
The evil mind behind the Empire's Death Star, Krennic wears a white Imperial uniform consisting of a wool twill tunic and breeches with leather belt and boots, and a lightweight cotton cape.
Krennic is escorted by Deathtroopers, black-clad variations on the infamous Imperial Stormtroopers.
Deathtroopers wear specialised Stormtrooper armour.
Can't you just hear "The Imperial March"?
You'll see these strong looks and many more when "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" hits movie theatres in mid-December.
