Sony Cyber-shot HX200V

The most important part of the HX200V for many potential buyers--the 30x zoom lens--remains unchanged from its predecessor, the HX100V.

The big change is in the sensor, going from 16 to 18 megapixels. With that you get some extra creative shooting options as well as new high-speed autofocus and enhanced low-light photo quality.

It will be available in black this March for approximately $480.

Sony Cyber-shot HX30V

Taking the top spot for Sony's compact megazooms is the HX30V. It, too, has the 18-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor found in the HX200V and much of the same shooting capabilities including 1080/60p movie capture with dual record of 13-megapixel photos while recording.

Along with the long lens you get built-in GPS and Wi-Fi. Don't want Wi-Fi? Hunt down the HX20V, which is the same camera, but, you guessed it, without the Wi-Fi.

Lots of shooting options to play with and on back, a 3-inch 921K-dot-resolution LCD.

The HX30V will be available in black this May for approximately $420; the HX20V hits at the same time for $20 less.

Sony Cyber-shot HX10V

The HX10V is 2011's HX9V, but with the same 18-megapixel sensor and the shooting and performance enhancements found in the HX30V/20V and HX200V. However, it captures movies at 1080/60i.

Sony Cyber-shot H90

The H90 is the stripped-down version of the HX10V. You get the same lens, but instead of the 18-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, you get a 16-megapixel CCD sensor. Unfortunately, with the sensor switch you lose a lot of the HX10V's functionality.

The positive being when it hits in March, you'll be able to pick up a camera with that 16x wide-angle lens for $250.
