Sharp lines up new TVs at CES 2013
Aquos and IGZO and Purios, oh my! They're right here in all their Sharp-y glory -- except, that is, for IGZO, a new high-resolution LCD technology that's not featured in any sets discussed today.
The LED Aquos set gets bigger
And, Sharp insists, better. The updates include Sharp's "Quattron" tech, which adds a yellow pixel to the standard red-blue-green lineup to enhance detail and offer more colors.
And bigger the Aquos certainly is
The company will debut 21 new displays in the 60-, 70-, 80-, and 90-inch ranges.
The $31,000, 60-inch Ultra HD TV
Sharp also showed off its upcoming 60-inch Purios set, which it actually unveiled in mid-December. The new TV will be available in February for, well, quite a large sum of money.
Another view of the Purios
Sharp bills the Purios as an "Ultra HD" device -- what was formerly known as "4K" resolution.
Purios and plants
One final picture that's worth, oh, say about 31,000 words -- at least at a going rate of a dollar a word. And you can see some of the specs, too.
