A screen that's still luscious
The Samsung Galaxy S II 4G's 4.3-inch (800x480) AMOLED display isn't as sharp as screens found on many competing models. Even so, with stunningly high contrast and vibrant colors, it can still hold its own.
Power enough for most
Running a 1.2GHz Exynos dual-core CPU, the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G is still nimble enough to flip through menus and launch apps quickly. It can also drive fancy live wallpapers smoothly such as this one with animated weather and windmills.
Simple but comfy typing
The Samsung Galaxy SII 4G comes with Samsung's standard virtual keyboard installed. It's a basic typing surface but is well spaced and comfortable to use. It also features the Swype keyboard for faster texts.
Headphone jack on top
On the top edge of the Samsung Galaxy SII 4G is its 3.5mm headphone jack.
A tiny power key
The right side of the Samsung Galaxy SII 4G holds a sole physical button, its tiny power key.
Adjust the volume
The Samsung Galaxy SII 4G's left side holds a thin volume rocker.
This back needs refinement
With a square shape that looks very different from the smooth curves of its sequel, the Galaxy S III, the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G's back plastic plate could be more refined.
Removable battery and SD Card
Under the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G's back plate is a removable battery and micro SD Card slot.
Old phone, fresh Android
One of the best features of the Samsung Galaxy SII 4G for Boost Mobile is its updated Android 4.0 OS.
Swype is on board
Aside from the standard software keyboard, the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G uses the Swype keyboard for fast one-handed text entry.
