Samsung's double washer cuts down on chore time
Take a tour of Samsung's FlexWash, a $1,899 washing machine with all sorts of fancy features.
This is Samsung's FlexWash washing machine.
It costs $1,899. This model is only available in the US, but converted, the price is roughly £1,480 and AU$2,550.
The FlexWash isn't like most washers.
It has a 5-cubic-foot front-load washer.
But it also has a 1-cubic-foot top-load washer.
You can wash clothes in both compartments simultaenously or separately.
This washer did a good job removing stains. Just take a look at the stains strips before and after a cleaning cycle.
These fabric strips judge how tough or gentle a washer is on clothes.
The FlexWash did alright, but had 268 attached, frayed threads after running through a cleaning cycle.
The FlexWash has a black stainless steel finish.
Its touchscreen control panel is similar to using a smartphone.
Two different digital displays tell you how much cleaning time is left on both the upper and lower washer.
Use the large buttons on the center of the display to turn the washer on and off.
Because the upper washer opens like a top-loader, you can't stack the companion dryer on top.
Instead, these two appliances have to be installed side-by-side.
This washer works with Samsung's Smart Home app. Start and stop cleaning cycles from your phone.
Here's a comparative look at the FlexWash's cleaning performance by stain.
