Samsung Q60B TV Stands Slim and Sophisticated
The company's cheapest QLED for 2022 looks kinda high-end in person.
This entry-level model still offers a bright picture, which makes it a good choice for rooms with lots of light and helps HDR movies and games look better.
The Samsung's bezels are nice and thin.
The remote offers one-touch access to Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video and Samsung's own TV Plus platform.
The remote is easy to use and the wraparound finish feels high-end.
The remote is solar powered and rechargeable. Rather than reliant on AAA batteries, and you can top it off via USB-C, the solar cell on the back or RF harvesting.
Samsung's new full-screen home menu can get visually overwhelming with apps, movies, TV shows and ads, and responses were sometimes slower than other systems.
Samsung offers many of your favorite streaming apps including Netflix, HBO Max and the Disney Plus, but Roku and Google feature an even wider selection.
The TV is thin enough to easily mount on a wall.
The Q60B offers a handful of picture modes and Movie and Filmmakers were the most accurate in our tests.
There are unique settings menus when gaming that appear along the bottom of the screen. They display current frames per second, HDR status and VRR (which isn't available on the Q60B, so its status indicator will always read "Off).
There are also various game modes that are keyed to game genres, namely Standard, RPG, RTS, FPS, Sports. There's also a Custom mode that lets you adjust brightness, contrast and the rest manually. Unfortunately, there isn't too much difference in the picture quality between them.
The TV includes two USB ports, three HDMI ports, and a LAN connection.
