Mostly more of the same
Most manufacturers make an effort to go bigger and better on the second round, but not Samsung in this case. While the two Galaxy Tab 2 slates (a 7-incher and 10.1-incher, respectively) do get a bump with Android Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system, Samsung's goal is to make these tablets more appealing to the mass market. In a word, cheaper than the original, and that means slightly stepped-down specs than you might expect for Round Two.
Back
The Tab 2s (10.1-inch pictured) retain their streamlined design. Both versions have a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 3-megapixel camera and front-facing VGA camera, and support for 1080p HD video.
Here are the new models, side by side.
Metal sheen
The metal look gives the more midrange tablet a more premium look and feel.
