RIM BlackBerry Bold 9780 (T-Mobile)

The RIM BlackBerry Bold 9780 is available in either black or white from T-Mobile for $129.99 with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

As the successor to the Bold 9700, the RIM BlackBerry Bold 9780 brings BlackBerry OS 6, double the flash memory, and a 5-megapixel camera.

Design

The Bold 9780's design is largely like the Bold 9700. The smartphone measures 4.29 inches tall by 2.36 inches wide by 0.56 inch thick and 4.3 ounces and features a 2.44-inch half-VGA non-touch display.

Keyboard

Again, there isn't a notable difference between the keyboard on the Bold 9700 and the Bold 9780, which is fine by us since we like it quite a bit.

Camera

The Bold 9780 doesn't offer too many hardware upgrades, but it does get a boost from a 3.2-megapixel camera to a 5-megapixel camera.

Picture quality

Despite having autofocus, images still came out slightly blurry and photos taken indoors were a bit dim.
