HTC Evo 4G (Sprint)
Average user rating: 4 stars - 398 user reviews
Reader jdhuiz2's take: Simply put, the EVO is the best phone I've ever used. It has great call quality, excellent Outlook synchronization (an absolute must for me), a great onscreen keyboard, and excellent multimedia capabilities, and looks beautiful.

Motorola Droid X (Verizon Wireless)
Average user rating: 4 stars - 152 user reviews
Reader Art_34's take: This is a great smartphone that does everything well you would expect a smartphone to do. Was waiting for iPhone to come to Verizon, but now I could care less if it happens or not based off the performance of this phone.

Samsung Vibrant (T-Mobile)
Average user rating: 4 stars - 164 user reviews
Reader selenitic's take: This phone has a beautiful screen and the HD movies look incredible. It has enterprise features that I really missed from my BlackBerry and have not seen on other Android phones.
It looks a lot like an iPhone on the exterior (is this a con, maybe?), but don't be fooled, it is totally Android with some of the best features I've seen so far. Oh, and the phone is super fast! I love it.

T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide
Average user rating: 4 stars - 65 user reviews
Reader johnw43's take: I have had the following phones in the last year: MT3G, BB Bold 9000 and 9700, BB 8520, Droid Eris, Motorola Droid, HTC Incredible, iPhone 3GS. Yes, I have a problem. After one day of use, I think this one may be the best. Call quality and 3G signal have been very good--severely lacking on the Incredible and to a lesser extent the Eris.

HTC Aria (AT&T)
Average user rating: 4 stars - 67 user reviews
Reader atomicbomb156's take: The HTC Aria is a wonderful smartphone. It is literally the perfect size, making the iPhones, BlackBerries, and Droids of the world seem huge by comparison. Although the specs may not be that impressive, the real-life performance [is].

T-Mobile G2
Average user rating: 4 stars - 73 user reviews
Reader Guruan01's take: I have had the device for a week now. Was very skeptical in the beginning, but now I'm loving it! The phone is very smooth/zippy, and there is no lag at all. The stock Android feels clean, and the phone does not have much bloatware.

Samsung Focus (AT&T)
Average user rating: 4 stars - 62 user reviews
Reader mrmcguire's take: I hate to quote the commercials, but the phone really does save you from your phone. It gives you what you want at a glance, and it provides a rich, engaging experience when doing everything else. If you're looking for a different kind of phone experience than iOS/Android that is fast and functional, the Focus will not disappoint. Best purchase I've made in a long time.

Huawei Ascend (Cricket Wireless)
Average user rating: 4 stars - 61 user reviews
Reader total_destruction_1999's take: I have had this phone for about 3 weeks and so far I love it. The touchscreen is fast and responsive. Call quality for me has been comparable to every other phone I have used on Cricket's network. This is my first smartphone and I have to say I think I made a wise choice.
