Biking across the Bay

To prove that biking on water actually floats, Judah Schiller, a San Francisco Bay Area resident, rode across the San Francisco Bay from Oakland to the city last week. On Thursday, he attempted the same feat on the Hudson River, departing from the Pier 13 Boat Club in Hoboken, N.J., and arriving at Pier 66 in Chelsea, N.Y., an estimated 15 minutes later.

Hunter-killer robots to take out the jellyfish

This week, one of the world's largest nuclear reactors was sidelined by waves of jellyfish that came out of the sea.
The jellies have since been removed from the Oskarshamn nuclear plant in Sweden, but the threat remains.
What the world needs now, according to Korean scientists, are hunter-killer robots to take out the jellyfish. They've built prototypes that shred the gentle creatures at the rate of 1 ton an hour.
